Halla Rallye 4000 lights are a very popular off-road light because they are big, durable, produce a lot of light, and are available in several beam patterns. Their 9 inch tall, cast aluminum housing comes in matte black and chrome finishes and encases a tempered glass lens and 12 volt, 100 watt halogen bulb (55 watt in fog lights). Hella's proprietary free-form reflector found in all Rallye 4000 series lights, except fog lamps, uses up to 50,000 reflector points to precisely focus and direct the light for up to 3 times better illumination than a standard parabolic reflector.

To ensure that every Hella Rallye 4000 series light is tough enough to handle the abuses of off-roading, Hella subjects every light to a brutal test before letting it leave the factory. The test includes 5 hours of rain and mud spray, an hour of extreme temperature shocks, an hour of high pressure water spray followed by and an hour of high vibration testing. This means that by the time you get your lights they've already withstood conditions more severe than you could ever subject them to.

Position lamps are a feature available on some models that uses a low wattage secondary bulb to illuminate the lens without projecting light from the lamp. In addition to creating a unique look, this feature improves your visibility to other drivers and is comparable to a parking light.

CELIS technology, more commonly referred to as "angel eyes," is an available option on chrome euro beam Rallye 4000 models and serves as a parking light with a unique, sophisticated, and exotic appearance.

Hella Rallye 4000 lights are available with 4 different light beam patterns. Euro beam lights are the most popular as they offer the best overall near and far illumination. Cornering beams have a wide, mid-range pattern that works well on winding mountain roads and trails, while a pencil beam focuses the light far ahead for long distance visibility. Fog lamps utilize a wide, close range beam designed to improve visibility in severe weather and dusty conditions. The below graphic depicts a typical light pattern for each type of light:
