ORI DP3 Struts are some of the most advanced nitrogen air shocks ever made. They feature dual internal spring rates, externally adjustable rebound and compression damping, and side-force sensing valves to reduce body roll. Each strut can support up to 1,300 lbs. making them ideal for lightweight buggies and rock crawlers. Multiple struts can be installed on larger vehicles where they can be mounted independently or interconnected to act as one unit.

Hill and Turn Sensitive Valving
Internal sensors and valves allow each ORI DP3 Strut to automatically switch between soft and hard spring rates while you drive to balance out forces encountered on hills and hard turns. When properly tuned, a vehicle equipped with ORI DP3 struts will not require an external sway bar.

Dual Spring Rates
Unlike all other air shocks that only have one spring rate, ORI DP3 Struts feature soft and hard spring rates that can be custom tuned from 35 to 600 PSI and are effective throughout the full stroke of the strut. The soft spring rate acts as the primary spring for level driving while the secondary spring rate is tuned to kick in when the vehicle encounters a hill, side slope, or a hard turn.

Externally Adjustable Valving
To complement the dual spring rates found in each ORi DP3 Strut, the internal shock absorber valving was designed with externally adjustable rebound and compression damping controls. The compression stroke of the shock can be adjusted by turning a screw at the top of the strut to adjust the compression damping speed by up to 50% while the rebound valving is controlled by a 7 position dial located at the bottom of the strut. Additional adjustments can be made by changing upper and lower shock oil levels and viscosity.

Built In Bump Stop and Extension Cushion
Not only do ORI DP3 Struts make sway bars unnecessary, they do away with external bump stops and limiting straps because those features are already built into the struts themselves. The compression stroke of the DP3 strut features 3 stages made up of standard valving, a hydraulic bump stop, and a secondary mechanical bump stop to soften hard landings. An end-of-stroke cushion keeps the strut safe from damage caused by over-extension.

Unloading and Push-Off Prevention
Another great feature not found on any other shock is the ability to set a rebound park-position to prevent unloading during a hill climb or decent. Unlike coilovers or air springs that will always rebound back to their ride height position, ORI DP3 Struts can be set with a predetermined rebound park-position that limits the rebound travel of the strut until the weight of the wheels and axles can extend the strut back to ride height.

Unlike traditional shocks that only have rebound and compression valving, ORI DP3 Struts have internal hydraulic bump stops, dual spring rates, hill and side force sensors, independent compression and rebound oil, 7 position rebound valving, and 3 stage compression valving that all need to be calibrated, adjusted, and tuned to work together.
