Interco Super Swamper Thornbird tires have a very distinctive and specialized tread pattern that makes it two tires in one carcass. The central tread patch is designed to give the tire a narrow and dense contact patch for excellent dry and wet pavement traction, while the raised and offset outer lugs only come into action when tire pressure is reduced or when the vehicle encounters deep mud, dirt, or sand. Constructed as a bias-ply tire, Interco added additional fiberglass belts under the tread and polyester plies to the tire's sidewall to improve its on-road performance and give it a smoother ride.
