Description

Atlas Transfer Case Advance Adapters Atlas 2 Speed Transfer cases are the industry standard with well over 10,000 units sold and are the perfect choice for rock crawling, desert racing, or mud bogging. They are rated to handle the most severe off-road abuse in their standard form, however, competition-grade components are available for those that are known to push the limits. All Atlas transfer cases are custom built to order by Advance Adapters in the exact configuration that you need with the specific internal component and accessories that you choose.

Option 1: Gear Ratio

The first of many choices you need to make when ordering an Atlas T-Case is selecting the appropriate gear set. For the 2 speed model case, you have five available low gear ratios, three of which are available as competition grade cases. All combinations feature a 1:1 high range gear ratio for high speed or daily driving.
  • 2.1:1 Low / 1:1 High Standard or Race Case
  • 3.0:1 Low / 1:1 High Standard or Race Case
  • 3.8:1 Low / 1:1 High Standard or Race Case
  • 4.3:1 Low / 1:1 High Standard Case
  • 5.0:1 Low / 1:1 High Standard Case (Special Order)
Race Case upgrades include 300M input shaft and cluster gears along with ISF treated gears for 15% higher torque rating, gears with 3 times longer life expectancy, 5% more efficient rotation, reduced operating temperatures, and lower gear noise. Requires HD tailhousing and 300M output shaft.

Option 2: Front Output Shaft Orientation

Atlas transfer cases can be built with the front output shaft placed on either the driver or passenger side of the transmission, depending on which side of the front axle the differential is located, and at several angles ranging from perfectly level down to a 35 degree depending on vehicle clearance and configuration.

Atlas Transfer Case Top View Cutaway

Update: All new Atlas transfer cases are clockable in 7 degree increments from 0 to 35 degrees.
  • Driver Side Output - Clockable to 35 degrees depending on existing transmission drop angle.
  • Passenger Side Output - Clockable to 35 degrees depending on existing transmission drop angle.

Option 3: Transmission Adapter

Atlas transfer cases may require an adapter plate as well as several other internal components to bolt to your transmission. Luckily, as their name implies, Advance Adapters has got you covered. If you don't see your transmission listed in the pull-down menu above or the table below, please contact us and we will help you configure your case.

Option 4: Transfer Case Tailhousings and Speedometers

Atlas 2 speed transfer cases are available with three different tailhousing and speedometer options and your choice of standard or competition rated output shafts.

Standard Tailhousing Image Standard 32 Spline Atlas Tailhousing
The standard Atlas transfer case comes with a rear tailhousing that accepts an '87 and newer Jeep speedometer or the Atlas mechanical speedometer and allows you to calibrate your speedometer for tire and gearing changes.

Heavy Duty 32 Spline Tailhousing
The HD Atlas rear tailhousing is the same as the standard housing with the exception of the output shaft which is machined from stronger 300M steel. This tailhousing is designed for competition use and is rated to be 130% stronger than the standard output shaft.

Short Tailhousing Image Short 32 Spline Tailhousing (No Speedometer)
For rock crawlers, smaller vehicles, or rear engine applications where space is tight and speedometers are not needed, the Atlas shorter tailhousings is the perfect choice. It has no speedometer input to save space and is 2 inches shorter than the standard tailhousing.

Short 32 Spline HD Tailhousing (No Speedometer)
The heavy duty short tailhousing is the same as the standard version except for the output shaft which is machined form 300M steel that is 130% stronger and rated for competition use and high horsepower applications.

GM VSS Tailhousing Image GM Electronic VSS Tailhousing
Vehicle speed sensors (VSS) are mandatory for computer controlled engines and transmissions, and while not all applications are the same, the Atlas VSS tailhousing allows a sensor and reluctor to be installed to feed the required information to your engine computer. This tailhousing also includes a standard shift control unit that is drilled and tapped to accept a low range switch to illuminate the "4x4 Low" light on your dash.

Note: Mating an Atlas transfer case with VSS tailhousing to a computer controlled engine and transmission is an advanced process and may require some additional components to make thing work properly. When in doubt, or if you have any questions about this process, please contact Filthy Motorsports or Advance Adapters prior to making your purchase.

Option 5: Transfer Case Input Shaft

There are many different Atlas input shafts available with various lengths and spline counts to fit most popular applications and configurations. In some cases, an adapter may be required to mate the transfer case to your transmission and we've listed the appropriate Advance Adapters part number below for your reference. Once you've identified your transmission and adapter requirements, the required input shaft is listed in the far right column. If your application is not listed below please contact Filthy Motorsports as some applications are not listed and custom adapters are available.

5 of 5 Great Customer Service!! May 3, 2018
Reviewer: Dave from Ohio
I want to send a big shout-out to Ben Brazda! He’s been there when I had questions, he was there to take my order, he was there when I wanted to add an option to same order. When I was missing a part from my order, he not only took care of it, but did so quickly and made my day! When i realized I was missing a part, he replied within the hour! He asked for a couple of picks, I sent them. The following Monday (Today) I sent a quick note asking if he’d received the pics, and unknown to me, the part had arrived on my front porch in the meantime. This is how business is done! Thanks Ben, hope to see you on the trails!
