FM525-01A Custom Length Rear 2.5 Shocks w/ Remote Reservoirs and Compression Adjusters

Some heavier rear springs may require internal limiting spacers to be installed.

Important Vehicle Specific Notes and Recommendations

Toyota 2003 to 2023 Toyota 4Runners, FJ Cruisers, and Lexus GX Models feature 8.5" of available rear suspension travel from the factory and are typically set up with 5" of available up-travel at ride height. This is ideal for stock height vehicles as even when loaded and squatted 1" you would still have 4" of available up-travel. Once the rear end is lifted more than 1.5" over stock height, down-travel gets reduced to 2" or less which results in the suspension "topping out" or overextending, thus causing poor performance and ride quality. Therefore, we want to trade 2" of up-travel to gain 3" of down travel so we use 2" bump stop spacers and longer rear shocks. Not only does this re-position the sweet sport closer to the center of travel, but it gains us an inch more of usable travel.

For vehicles running 33" / 285 tires or larger, 2" bump stop spacers are required to prevent the tires from contacting the rear fenders. If your vehicle is already equipped with 2" bump stop spacers (or 2" taller bump stops) and you are running the stock length King rear shocks (purchased from another vendor) be aware that this results in a net-loss of 2" of up-travel and reduces your rear travel to only 6.5". Any time a rear 2" bump stop spacer is used, these custom length rear shocks are required.

KDSS equipped vehicles will require rear KDSS spacers for the KDSS system to work correctly. Lexus GX models with air-ride will require a rear coil spring conversion to work with King rear shocks.

I just got done doing a big off road camping trip with the new Kings in the rear and loved them! No more fade, no more topping out on small stuff. Very happy with them!
