King OEM shocks have an expected 75,000 to 100,000 mile service interval for most applications with proper maintenance and care. Beware of vendors claiming that King shocks require service at 30,000 miles. Watch this short video for complete details: King Shocks Actual Service Interval


Important Vehicle Specific Notes and Recommendations

Toyota 200 Series Land Cruisers are one of the most impressive vehicles available in stock form and benefit tremendously from a high performance suspension upgrade. Filthy Motorsports will work with you directly to make sure the spring rates, valving, and overall configuration of the suspension is in-line with your needs and expectations. Here are a few important things we need to consider when building a well tuned suspension system for a Land Cruiser 200 Series:

1. The factory upper control arms allow for full available travel, however, they are non adjustable so aftermarket UCAs are recommended at 1.5" of front end lift or above. Filthy Motorsports highly recommends SPC UCAs for their added adjustability as well as their strength and durability.

2. LC200 and LX570 models sit relatively high in the rear from the factory so we only recommend about 1" of additional lift using aftermarket rear springs. Lifting the rear end too high will result in reduced down travel and cause the shocks to over extend or "top out."

3. The standard 16" x 600 lb spring is rated for the international model with a diesel engine. For stock weight US model land cruisers, we recommend going with 550 lb springs. King does not offer this particular spring so we would swap them for silver Eibach springs (see photos above).

4. Aftermarket rear springs have very large gaps within their ratings(stock weight, 400 lbs, and 900 lbs.) so selecting the proper springs for your vehicle, expected use, and desired ride height is tricky so we will go over those options with you at the time of the order.

King OEM Performance Shock Upgrade Kits are direct bolt-on replacement shocks and/or coilovers for your vehicle and come custom tuned for the ultimate balance of on-road handling and off-road performance. They include all of the necessary hardware you need for a bolt-on installation that can easily be done over the weekend. Custom length shafts and cylinders are available to work with any brand and size lift kit. Additional options include compression adjusting reservoirs, custom colors, internal or external bypass tubes, and race-spec valving.


Servicing, Tuning, and Rebuilding
All OEM upgrade shocks and coilovers are hand-built with the same parts as all of King's other Performance Race Series shocks. They are completely serviceable, tunable, and rebuildable to last a lifetime and it only requires a few simple hand tools, a few hours, and the appropriate King replacement parts from Filthy Motorsports. If you prefer not to do the work yourself, you can always bring (or send) your shocks to us and we will service them for you.

Brother, night and day. It’s the difference between skiing Ice vs. powder. I went for a 2 hr joyride Sunday, and I hit every rail crossing and speed hump around town. It’s great. It's very plush and controllable. I love it, it’s the best upgrade / mod I’ve done to any of my vehicles. Now I want all of them done.
